Hey everyone,
I am SO SO SO sorry I disappeared for so long! I had a lot of personal drama going on, but that's just now starting to get a little better. I've caught up on all the tags I'm woefully late on, and hopefully once some of those are wrapped I can start new ones!
And it seems that I missed a lot while I was gone! Hi new people! I'm May, and I play two characters here. I'm going to do like Eloise and give them a brief little intro here, if that's cool with everyone :)
This journal belongs to Luke Fox, a 25-year-old musician who came to Vegas on a baseball scholarship. He was a rising star as a pitcher, but then he got in a motorcycle accident, so he's retired now. Instead, he's trying to make his dream of being a rock star a reality and working as a desk clerk at a casino in the meantime to pay the bills. He's the ex-guitarist for Oh! Joan, so he has connections to those people, as well. I'd LOVE for him to have more friends, enemies, drinking buddies, role models, etc. so hit me up with all your ideas! Oh, and he graduated from UNLV too, so maybe there could be some connections there.
My other character is Calvin Crane (![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) crane_rising) a neurotic nerd whose dad is a businessman who owns the Silverton Hotel and Casino, plus several properties back in the midwest, where Calvin's from. Calvin lives in the hotel and is just finishing up his last year at UNLV (he's double majoring in business and psychology with a secret minor in pre-law) and he's helping his dad run the hotel. He, too, needs all sorts of connections, so please hit him up as well!

Everyone, I am back in action after my hiatus. :)
To all new people: hello, I'm Eloise and I've got two characters here.
One is this dude: Ian, in his mid-40s, unemployed, looking for his biological son in Vegas. He likes any outdoor sport you can think of and will probably be hanging out in bars looking for people to give him a place to sleep for a night -- in between looking for his son.
Two is: Joey, in his mid-20s, working as the aquarium manager for Silverton Hotel & Casino. He is a nerd, he likes fish, and is kind of a homebody, but he can be found out and about too, if anyone wants him.
I'm looking for plots for both of them, so definitely hit me up if you're inspired, and I'm looking forward to jumping back in here asap. :)

Just a small notice to let you all know that, since we (Tess and Allie) are both very busy right now, Paige has agreed to assist with some modding responsibilities; primarily, this means activity checks, while we are still responsible for the rest of the moderating duties.
On the subject of activity checks, we admit we have dropped the ball on keeping up with them. We're sure you know if you have fallen behind, but if you have any questions you can contact us and we would be glad to let you know. However, we will be starting activity checks on the fifteenth of this month. These checks will not be retroactive, but from now on we will be enforcing our activity rules more strictly. If you are not in hiatus, please keep our requirements in mind to avoid any problems in the future.

ETA: In response to a question asked in a comment that has since been deleted by the user, we are in fact still advertising and looking for new players. Advertisements were paused while the mods fine-tuned the workings of the community, and then dealt with RL issues, but we plan to run another round of them in the near future... and as always, please feel free to post to appropriate communities looking for fills for specific lines!

I'll be Indiana bound with the husband and mini me to visit family and SADLY I barely get cell phone reception let alone internet access. Hi everyone, I'm Anya and I'm bringing with me Harry here, Ash's (and by extension, Little D's) doctor on call. He's from Boston originally, but has been doing charity medical work around the globe, and is probably an adrenaline junkie, come to think of it. He's been in Vegas, off and on, for about two years now, so I'm wide open for plot or connections of any sort.
As for myself, I'm a Master's student in medieval history, and I'm currently biting my nails over PhD application acceptance letters. Hi everyone! Paige again with character number 2! This is Cassandra Kingston, a ballet dancer from England who's recently moved to Las Vegas to find her birth mother. She's going to work at Little Darling's and is very, very free spirited. She's relatively innocent - only 18 and has just started drinking and kissing boys in clubs - so people to have fun with and hang out with would be great! She's got an apartment over at Avenue 8 studios because it's nice and cheap. Anywho, I'm sure I'll be bringing in more in the future! :D

Hihi again! It's Jer again with character #2! This is Drea, she's an ex-cop who was injured in the line of duty. She uses a wheelchair now, and of course, had to give up being a police officer. But she's rebounded and is now a security consultant for several businesses around Vegas, including some of the casinos. She's also a little bit of a gamer girl (all the action but none of the actual, you know, really getting shot at!) and still looking for Ms. Right. They'll meet, she'll load up the U-Haul and her cats, and live happily ever after! Or, you know, maybe not.

So hello there! I'm Jer, and I bring you my first character (I say first, because there's at least one more I've got rolling around in my head (and when you meet her, you'll see why that's funny)(also I'm kind of addicted to parentheses)). This is Lou, and he's new in town, along with his wife and stepkids (wife to come into game shortly). He's a musician, part-time radio dude, and much of the time a stay-at home dad. He's a little bit crazy, but he's actually getting a lot better. Marriage has mellowed him. Oh, and he's, as he puts it, a dirtbag with money, thanks to a stroke of luck where he won the lottery.

Hey all, Eloise here with my second character.
This is Ian. He's a rugged outdoorsman from Alaska who has had kind of a craptacular life, but only because of his own wrongdoings. He's 44 but lacks any real sense of responsibility, hates planning, and has never left a job on a good note. He's also done 10 years in a state prison as a sex offender.
Ian is moving to Vegas as we speak, in search of his biological son James Ward -- known to all of you as the fabulous Frankie. So he'll be sniffing out his son's trail and hopefully he'll catch a break there.
Because Ian is flat out broke, he's hitchhiking into Vegas. Does anyone want to have their character pick him up off the side of the road? :)
I can't offer connections because he's brand new to the neighborhood, but future plots are always welcome.

(His real name is Ashleigh and he will kick you if you call him that) He grew up in New York with an abusive father and accidentally sort of killed the guy when he was in HS. Oops. Ash has since developed a pretty heavy drinking problem and doesn't do serious emotional attachments. He just likes flirting/having sex with attractive people. He owns Little Darlings, where Holly works at (and I think a few others! Hello!).

So I know this is kind of douchy of me, considering that I just joined not too long ago, but school and a low test score have really bummed me out and all but killed my creativity. It could just be the time of the month (crabbiness is my pms) and I'm really sorry to those I was going to plot / was in a thread with, but I'd like to request a hiatus at least until midterm week is over. It's hard enough to focus as is and I need to bring in some higher test scores.
In the meantime, I can still be reached on AIM if you want to chat, just bear in mind I might be studying. I will be back though! Hopefully with fresh inspiration and a better outlook on life in general.

...so I just realized that I never introduced my two newbies after apping them on Saturday. I swear, I meant to do it. I thought really hard about it. I visualized myself doing it. Then I saw something shiny. Or possibly school related. Probably school related. My bad, guys, I am made of fail and homework.
So this is Mim Landry. If you want to make her mad, use her full name, Mimosa. If you want to make her really mad, call her Mimi. Of course, that will lead to being punched in the face. She's a bouncer at Freezone, a local gay and lesbian bar, and she's kind of a jerk. She's open for past and future casual flings with pretty women, friends and acquaintances from work (she previously worked as a bouncer at Little Darlings, as well), and buddies that she can snark about any and everything with. More info on her on her app, obviously.
Rounding out my four with my anal retentive need to keep everything balanced, I also have Seymour Cox at feedmeseymour. Yes, he knows his name is hilarious. He's been hearing about it his entire life and he hasn't quite forgiven his parents for that, among other things, still. He's a station-chef at The Mix and has recently started his own cooking blog, which I'm... still working on finishing. He was also recently dumped by a guy he thought he was in a serious relationship with, and he's still trying to get back on his feet emotionally, from that. He's also definitely open for friends, other food lovers, history with other Vegas natives... basically whatever you want to throw his way! Again, more on his app, and feel free to throw some ideas for recipes on his IC contact post. Go ahead, test my Google-fu with your weird regional dish!

So I introduce to you, Evan Ellis! He is 25, son of a city councilman in AC, and childhood best friend of David. He still lives in NJ right now, but he will be coming to LV soon. He just banged his dad's wife a couple times (NOT HIS MOM YO) and he's about to find out. IF anyone wants to pick up his step mom, btw, let me know cause that'd be FAB.

Hello, hello. I'm Julie! Alissa and Tess lured me here, and so I'm bringing in Mao, who I've played a lot over the years, and some of you may know from other games! For those who don't, he's (like his journal name suggests) a smart mouthed, abrasive little shit who enjoys having a good time. He's pretty young compared to most of the characters here, but he prefers to run with an older crowd if they let him. His mother was a big time party girl, part time DJ, stripper / escort that died in a car accident two years ago, leaving Mao an orphan. Mao sort of rides on the coat tails of her popularity to get into places he shouldn't, so he pops up in clubs and bars and anywhere he can get away with sneaking in. It is possible that some characters here might have known her, and therefore know Mao since she, lacking common sense, brought him along on a lot of her misadventures. He loves to dance, and enjoys a wide variety of music (as long as its got a good beat) and he dabbles in DJing, though he's still too young for any club to actually hire him. Having no steady income and being underage, Mao resorts to sticky fingers and petty thievery.
This is entirely too ramble-y so it'd probably be better to just read his bio, lmao.

May here, FINALLY back from my battle with computer trouble (and subsequent internet issues -.-). I'm sorry I a was gone for so long; it seems I've missed a lot. If anyone wants to fill me in on especially important things, please do!

Also, Ally! I haven't forgotten you! I'll tag the Joey/Luke/Nadi thread today and have Luke comment on all Nadi's amazing job things :D
